Medhu Vadai In Tamil | How To Make Crispy Medu Vadai | Ulund Vadai In Tamil | Gowri Samayalarai

Medhu Vadai is a famous South Indian recipe. It can be taken for breakfast, lunch and also as a snack. Let us see how to make it crispy outside and soft inside. Normally raw rice is used along with ulund dhal, but I use pre boiled pulungal rice, so it comes very crispy outside and soft inside. It also remains crispy for long hours. Ingredients Ulund dhal - 1 glass (250 Gm) Idly rice - 1 hand ( 3 tbs) Salt, oil, ginger, green chilly, curry leaves, onion. Steps Wash and soak ulund dhal and rice for 2 hours. Drain the water and grind it in grinder. Add only 2,3 tbs of water while grinding. Just dip your hand in water and handle the batter by wet hands. The batter should be fluffy and non sticky. It should be grinded for 30 minutes. Take out. If you use mixi for grinding, mix it well using your hand or spoon for 4,5 minutes, until you get fluffy. Mix salt, ginger, green chilly, curry leaves, onion. Make vadai as shown, deep fry in oil until it is crispy cooked. Try this vadai using ulund dhal along with idly rice and send me your feedbacks. Tamil month Aaddi first day this coconut baking is a traditional thing.. It is very tasty and healthy. Ingredients Coconut - 1 (big and white) Moong dhal - 2 tbs (dry roasted) Roasted gram - 2 tbs Thick rice flakes - 2 tbs (dry roasted) Sesame seeds - 1tbs (dry roasted) Brown sugar or jaggery - 4 to 6 tbs Steps Powder Moong dhal, roasted gram, Rice flakes coursly. Add brown sugar, sesame seeds and mix well. Clean the coconut and put a hole and take out the water... As shown. Apply turmeric for coconut and stick Fill the filling along with the taken out coconut water. Bake it as shown.. Turn around and do this until you can see cracks over coconut. It takes around 20 minutes. Break the shell and cut as shown. Ingredients

Beetroot - 1 ( 100 gm)

Fresh curd - 200 ml

Coconut - 1 tbs

Jeera - 1 tsp

Red chilly, green chilly - 1 each

Salt, oil, curry and Coriander leaves, mustard seeds, Ulund dhal.

Steps

Peel and grate beetroot. Grind coconut, jeera, chilly, curry and leaves, by adding little curd.

In little oil fry mustard seeds, Ulund dhal, add beetroot, little salt and little water. Cook for 2 minutes in low flame.

Once it becomes dry, switch off and keep aside, let it cool. Add coconut paste, curd and salt, mix well and serve.
