Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe by Chef Dangoor - TigerChef

Garlic Mashed Potatoes recipe demonstrated by renowned video blogger for https:// and chef extraordinaire Danny Dangoor. Ingredients needed are fresh garlic, oil, potatoes, onions, heavy cream, salt, and butter. The first step is to cut the tips off a head of fresh garlic, place in aluminum foil, pour oil on top, close off the foil and roast at 350 degrees for an hour. Leave the skin on the potatoes and boil until fork-tender, measurable by whether the weight of the knife is enough to sink into the potato on its own weight or not. When the potatoes are tender enough, remove from water and let cool on a plate or cutting board for 20 minutes and peel. Chop red onions a little on the thick side, heat a pot of oil to 300 degrees, or the smoking point, and add to the pot, cooking on a high heat 5-10 minutes until caramelized. Add salt at the end. For mashing the potatoes, the Winco Food Mill is extremely useful, mashing your potatoes into a smooth creamy texture. Add 1 cup of heavy cream and mix in before putting the pot on the stove. Squeeze in the roasted garlic and warm on a medium heat, adding salt as you stir. Add in the onions and 2 tablespoons of butter. For restaurant equipment and supplies, turn to https://

Cut the potatoes up into small cubes and place into a saucepan. Fill with cold water and place over medium-high heat to bring to the boil. Boil the potatoes for 20-30 minutes or until very tender and nearly falling apart. Drain the water using a colander and place the potatoes back into the saucepan. Keep on the heat until there is no longer large amounts of steam. Remove from the heat and start to mash the potatoes using a potato masher. Season with salt and pepper and gradually start adding the butter in small amounts. Make sure the butter is at room temperature so it doesn't bring down the temperature of the potatoes. Once all of the butter has been incorporated start to add the warm milk in small amounts until you are happy with the consistency. You may not need to use all of the milk. Mashed potato is a traditional recipe in continental cuisine. It is normally served with any meat/fish steak or with some cooked veggies. Sometimes it can be used as a spread on the bread. It can be served as breakfast with any lean meat. Its very tasty as well as easy to cook in few minutes (if your potatoes are boiled). I like mostly garlic flavoured mashed potatoes.
