This is the recipe for the very tasty Dak Galbi. I have learned this recipe over the years and changed it to suit my own personal preferences. Although the original recipe uses a lot more ingredients. This recipe is a very simple yet still delicious which takes less than 30 minutes.

Dak Galbi is a very popular Korean dish. It is Spicy dish but very delicious. This dish can be made with various vegetables, however chicken is the base of the dish. The recipe I have given is my take on the dish. I will include the ingredients and recipe below.

2 Chicken Breasts
6 Garlic cloves
1/4 Cabbage
1 Onion
1 Carrot
2 Tbsp Gochujang (Can be changed depending on how spicy you want the dish)
1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Curry Powder
1 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru). (These chilli flakes are not too spicy)


Prepare Ingredients:

Dice the onion
Mince garlic
Dice chicken breasts
Shred cabbage
Peel carrot and cut into rounds

1 - Prepare the chicken: Put {Chicken} {Soy sauce} {Gochujang} {Curry powder} {Red pepper flakes} into a bowl and mix well till the chicken is fully coated.

2 - Heat up 2 Tbsp of oil

3 - Add {marinated chicken} and cook for 1 minute on medium heat.

4 - Add {cabbage} {carrot} {onion} and cook on low/medium heat for
20 – 25 minutes.

If you notice the mixture sticking to the pan, reduce heat.

Stir every 2-3 minutes. You may need to reduce the heat if you are using a powerful cooker.

After 20 minutes the mixture should thicken up and start to brown. Ensure that the chicken is fully cooked.

Season with sesame seeds. If you don’t have sesame seeds, coriander or mint leaves can be used as an alternative.

Dak Galbi is traditionally served with rice, however it can also be used as a side dish when drinking beer.
