Island Survival--How to survive on a desert island

Learn how to survive as we walk you through the steps we took on a week-long primitive survival outing. ****Next Class March 2019****. I know its long, but it's packed with cool skills. Skills shown are shelter, primitive coconut opening, gathering food, friction fire from Bamboo, basket weaving and traps, primitive spearfishing, rope making, bamboo fish trap, diving deep for conch, mongoose trapping, bamboo cooking, snail roast and clay baking. If interested in going out on an excursion like this, check out http://wildsurvivalskills.com/ or MtVictoryCamp.com . Class will be held late 2017 in a very similar location on the Western side of St Croix. http://www.wildsurvivalskills.com/ Just had all my camera gear stolen, with half of my new video on it. If you would like to see a jungle survival video that is packed with survival skills please chip in a few bucks to fund the trip... https://www.gofundme.com/494qcytk (time-lapse video at end by Brad Salon) ****For those of you that are wondering, yes, we did find another source of water and boiled the water in bamboo. And, hydrocyanic acid, found in Almonds, is burned off when heated, this is why we roasted them. And lastly, the spines of Lion Fish are toxic if they stick you, the fish meat is not, it is very commonly eaten, so we cut the spines off and were all set. Please subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6ftIQAlFTI5Z5UyIFWYApg?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TomMcelroySurvival/ Instagram: WildSurvivalSkills After a few decades of being obsessed with collecting survival and primitive skills techniques, I am putting out these videos to demonstrate the skills and excursions found at my school, Wild Survival (wildsurvivalskills.com). Videos are focused on primitive skills, rewilding, nature awareness, living off the land, off grid living, indigenous skills, shelter building, primitive fire, water purification, trapping, hunting, bow making, flint knapping, primitive pottery, basketry, edible and medicinal plant preparation and numerous indigenous skills. I began studying wilderness survival when I was 17 in order to have the ability to spend extensive periods of time in nature, seeking out empowerment and without the need for external sources. I began studying in 1993 under Tom Brown Jr eventually teaching for Tracker Inc. I sought-out every old Native American teacher I could and eventually traveled the world living in very remote indigenous villages in the Amazon, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Peru. My school teaches survival and primitive skills, nature awareness, how to live off the land, re-wilding, prepare for disasters. I strongly believe that experiencing survival living changes the way people approach their entire lives.
